These pictures are from Loudon's second appearance at the Folk Festival, at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon, a blazing hot day, which is no doubt why Loudon wore the shorts.

Loudon played for about 45 minutes, and the songs were as follows:

Grown Man
I Got The Power? (said to be a UK Premier)
You Don't Want to Know
Unhappy Anniversary
Your Mother and I
Mr Guilty
Unrequited to the Nth Degree  (featured on TV coverage)
Inaugural Blues  (featured on TV coverage)
Bad Man
Out of this World
Dead Skunk
Men
Hard Day on the Planet

BBC2 TV's 'Highlights of Cambridge Folk Festival' programme, broadcast late on Friday night (August 6th), featured Loudon with 'Unrequited to the Nth Degree', a chat with British singer (presenter) Billy Bragg in the 'vegetable garden', then 'back to the stage' for 'Inaugural Blues.'

Hope y'all like the video stills, - I think they look GREAT!!!

From the Guardian Newspaper (Tuesday 2nd August '99)

Someone desperately needed to bring a little edge and attack to the
proceedings, so thank heavens for Loudon Wainwright III.

Ambling on like an excited puppy, in shorts and dark glasses, his solo set was in turn funny, thoughtful and bitter.  His concerns ranged from politics (with songs on Clinton and Kuwait from the new Social Studies album) to divorce and male inadequacy, and he ended with his celebrated sing-along about a dead skunk. The folk scene needs more like him.
